On March 19, the President of Azerbaijan congratulated Azeri people on Novruz Holiday, AzerTaj state news agency reported.
The congratulation message of the Head of State says that since the centuries, the arrival of each Novruz Bayrami in Azerbaijan personifies abundance and prosperity. The holiday of spring, which passing tests of time reached us from our ancestors, comes to our land on the first spring day, announcing the equinox and calling upon people to unity, peace and calmness, the congratulation message says. Novruz Bayrami, which is the bright personification of our national thought and cultured-moral values, is celebrated in all corners of the Republic as the official holiday of sovereign Azerbaijan, the President said.
The congratulation also says that the bright memory of the heroic sons of Azerbaijan, who gave their lives to protect the territorial integrity of the native land is commemorated on this day. Our compatriots, who live outside Azerbaijan also with great happiness meet Novruz Bayrami, which became the symbol of the national solidarity of the Azerbaijanis of world, even more strengthens their feelings of attachment to the native land in light of the national ideology.
