The Turkmen Parliament is developing a legal framework for economic activities of entrepreneurs.

The session is considering updated and new bills on foreign trade activities, property, accounting, pledge, free travel zones, Customs Code, support to small and medium business, state statistics, leasing and lease relationship, and insurance.

Development of these documents relates to the new Constitution, adopted last autumn. An article on gradual transition to market mechanisms of economic management was supplemented to the Constitution.

"We should take into account the emerging trends, be ahead of developments, and thus lay the foundation that will enable us to advance towards the goals," Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov said at a meeting with MPs.
