Georgia’s Foreign Ministry applies to accredited diplomats to estimate Dvani explosion

The Foreign Ministry applied to the diplomats accredited in Georgia with a request to estimate explosion taken place in Dvani village of Karel region on March 29. After the meeting with the ambassadors, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Nalbandov said that he familiarized the ambassadors with detailed information about the incident.

"We informed that this is the next provocation taken place after October 2008. Roughly 14 policemen and civilians died during this period. Moreover, we informed that this was purposeful provocation aimed to more aggravate situation at the territories close to occupied regions. It is necessary to launch mechanisms agreed during Geneva talks to prevent incidents. These mechanisms are not used up to now because Russia and its puppet regimes oppose them," Nalbandov said. 

Only ambassador of Germany made comments among the representatives of diplomatic corpus. "I agree with EU statement. The statement says that this crime must be investigated by law enforcement agencies," Patricia Floor said.

The incident caused general anxiety, the Interior Ministry's analytic department head Shota Utiashvili said. "Everyone shared our anxiety," he said.
