Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the delegation led by Council of European Union Special Representative on South Caucasus Peter Semneby on April 8, AzerTaj state news agency reported.
Semneby extended greetings of EU High Commissioner for Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana to the Azerbaijani President. He informed President Aliyev about the meeting he held in the country. Azerbaijan and the European Union maintain close ties, Semneby added.
The President expressed his confidence that the enhancing ties with the EU will further strengthen. President Aliyev thanked for the greetings by EU High Commissioner for Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana and asked to extend his greetings to Solana.
