Election headquarters on preparations for municipal elections opened in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani right wing party opened an election headquarters for preparations to municipal elections.

"The headquarters is functioning for several days and local organizations were instructed to choose candidates for municipal elections," the Democratic World of Azerbaijan Party (DWAP) Chairman Mammad Alizade told Trend .

The municipal and parliamentary elections will be held in Azerbaijan in autumn 2009 and 2010. Elections to municipalities were held twice -in 1999 and 2004.

According to Alizade, DWAP will nominate its candidates from every constituency.

Alizade does not see a necessity in the cooperation among parties during the elections. "We are sure of our force. We believe that we can achieve more success in the municipal elections," he said.

The DWAP was founded in 1992. In 1993, the Justice Ministry registered the party. Mammad Alizade is the chairman of the party. Party supports the policy of the New Azerbaijan Party.
