"If I become president, I will build the Iran-US relations within the interest of Iran. The USA should use the opportunity created to establish relations with Iran," member of the Advisory Council of Iran and presidential candidate Mohsen Rezaee said to his first press conference on May 3, Mehr news agency reported.
Answering the question on the development of the Iranian-American relations if he is elected president, Rezaee said that the USA can not maintain previous policy of aggression. "In this country there have been changes in public life, and these changes will lead to a new approach in foreign policy," said Rezaee.
He noted that regardless of whether the current American president can change something, the new generation of politicians will implement changes in U.S. foreign policy.
Former corps commander of the Islamic Sepah Revolution (Revolutionary Guardians) Mohsen Rezaee nominated his candidacy for the presidential elections. Rezaee is a member of the Advisory Council of Iran and the first candidate from the Conservative camp. The current Iranian Conservative President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad began pre-election campaign, but has not confirmed his nominations for the elections.
Up to now, from the reformist camp, chairman of National Trust Party, former speaker Mehdi Karroubi, and former Prime Minister of Iran Mirhuseyn Moussaoui nominated their candidacy for the presidential elections to be held on June 12.
