Ukraine will help Azerbaijan to train specialists in the field of nuclear regulation, Ukrainian State Committee for Nuclear Regulation Chairman Elena Mikolaichuk told journalists, ITAR-TASS reported.

Delegation of the State Agency for Regulation of Nuclear and Radiological Emergency activities in Azerbaijan headed by Siyavush Azakov will visit Kiev in June. "President of Azerbaijan adopted the regulation on the establishment of this body in April" Mikolaichuk said. "We will acquaint Azerbaijani partners with the work of our committee, regulatory framework and with a system of training within four days," she said.

Azerbaijan is considering nuclear power as a promising industry in the coming decades, despite the country's oil and gas reserves. "This is a sensible policy: First, a regulatory body is setting up, a system of scientific support is preparing, and we construct a research reactor, and then discuss plans for the construction of nuclear power plants", head of State Committee said.
