Georgia, Tbilisi, May 23 / Trend , N.Kirtzkhalia/
Soon, 50 Georgians in custody in Italy will be released, Georgian Ambassador to Italy Kote Gabashvili told journalists. He said Italian President Giorgio Napolitano will sign a pardon decree. However, the Georgians would be released only under one condition - the extradition to their mother lands. The ambassador said cases of three Georgians involved in serious crime - murder are under question. In this case, two more Georgians are in search, as well.
The Georgian side in Brussels completed its next stage of negotiations with the EU on readmission, which will simplify the process of extradition of Georgian citizens in Italy. Earlier, this procedure was complicated, but now the Georgian side agreed to simplify it. The situation with the deportation reaches the point of absurdity. For example, one of Georgian illegals called himself as Gogra Bali (cherry type) when being arrested in Italy and so Georgia could not identify him and Rome could not deport this citizen. Now, it will be enough to prove Georgian citizenship of deportee in order to be extradited. In return, Georgia will get a simplified visa regime from the EU countries.
