Procedures on Georgia's quitting CIS end

Georgia, Tbilisi, June 12 / Trend , N.Kirtzkhalia/

On June 12, the parliament approved a decree on the abolition of the two conventions of the CIS, with which, as noted by the Speaker of the legislative body of David Bakradze, "the legal procedure for withdrawal from the CIS countries ended."

With regard to the conventions, the issues on withdrawal from the agreement of March 27, 1992 on the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and the Convention of May 26, 1995 on the CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly were put on voting.

The parliament adopted a decision on withdrawal of Georgia from the CIS in 2008, after the August war.
