Iranian parliament launches commission to investigate latest events

Chairman of the Iranian parliament Ali Larijani has ordered to launch special commission to investigate latest developments in the country, Mehr reported. The commission will specifically investigate developments at the hostel of the Tehran University.   

Students staged demonstrations at the hostel of the Tehran University in support for the former presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi. Iranian police attacked the hostel, knocked down doors and inflicted large-size damage to the hostel. Several students were injured and several were arrested during the attack.

Hundreds of supporters of former presidential candidates Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi staged demonstration in protest to the results of the June 12 presidential elections. Shorts are reported to be fired in northern Tehran.

BBC reported that the demonstrations claimed lives of 7 demonstrators.
