Georgia is for strengthening of the EU observer mission in the conflict regions of the country, Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze said at news briefing on June 16.

After the OSCE and the UN mission's leaving Georgia, the only international mission - the EU remains in Georgia, which monitors the conflict zones in Georgia.

"These missions are not yet allowed in the zone of conflict, although the mandate has the right to do so. They play an important role and should be strengthened," the minister said.

Vashadze reaffirmed Georgia's execution of the ceasefire agreement, dated Aug. 12 2008.
