President of the Federative Republic of Brazil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva arrives in Kazakhstan today, the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan press service reported.
"This is the first state visit of leader of the largest Latin American region in Central Asia. The visit of President Lula da Silva has demonstrated an interest and willingness of Brazil to develop comprehensive relations with Kazakhstan," the press release said.
Lula da Silva will meet with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, as well as PM Karim Masimov.
"The sides will review bilateral relations, prospects of development of cooperation in various sphere, as well as the implementation of joint instructions made as the result of the visit of Kazakh president to Brazil in 2007," the press service said.
The sides will also consider the strengthening of cooperation in agriculture, mining, energy, including alternative energy sources, etc.
