The Azerbaijani opposition Justice Party will launch demonstrations in front of the Russian Embassy.
"If a fair resolution is not passed on Etimad Ismayilov, we will organize protest actions in front of the Russian Embassy. We will seek to draw attention of the Russian military-political leadership to illegality and tyranny in Etimad Ismayilov's case, Deputy Chairman of the Justice Party Elkhan Shukurlu told Trend on June 17, while speaking about the juridical investigation on the party's another deputy chairman Etimad Ismayilov who was detained by the Federal Security Service in Moscow in March 2008.
Etimad Ismayilov was detained by the Russian Federal Security Service officers at Domodedov airport on March 25 while returning from Baku to Moscow. Ismayilov is charged with fraud (article 159.4) and money laundry (article 274/14) in accordance with the Russian Penal Code.
The trial of Ismayilov took place in court of Chelyabinsk province of Russia.
The juridical investigation revealed that Ismayilov was arrested upon the order of the Chelyabinsk province leadership and it aims to conceal the province officers' crimes, Shukurlu said.
"Unfortunately, we cannot divulge our position to the Russian leadership and our addresses are ignored. The Chelyabinsk leadership spreads false reports by using this opportunity and seeks to attribute these crimes to Ismayilov. We hope if the Russian supreme leadership is correctly informed about this, Ismayilov will be provided with fair juridical investigation," the deputy chairman said.
Shukurlu reminded that another famous Azerbaijani businessman Fuzuli Mammadov was also experienced the same case several years ago and he could achieve protection of his rights, when the Russian leadership was involved in this case.
"At that time, Fuzuli Mammadov who was illegally detained and on whom the court passed a resolution was released. Moreover, senior officials of the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department and Ministry of Emergency Situations were arrested. We hope the same case will continue with Ismayilov. In this case, it was revealed that the leadership of the Chelyabinsk province and law-enforcement agencies formed a great criminal network and robbed a great amount of money from the Russian public budget. The Russian leadership which wants to hold reforms in the law-enforcement agencies must thank Ismayilov for his revealing such a criminal network ," Shukurlu said.
