The Georgian president considers that the country is in the fight against Russia for independence and unity. "We have not lost the war and we are in a position to fight for our liberation," President Mikheil Saakashvili said at the "Position" program of the Rustavi 2 TV channel.

The president emphasized that victory in this requires the unity of the entire population of Georgia and all political spectrum. "We have historically lost the war when we had traitors, but when we were together, we were invincible," Saakashvili said.

The president said in this regard, some radical opposition's behavior contradicts the statehood. "One politician told the French radio and called the whole world to save Georgia from Mikheil Saakashvili. Let us think that this - this is an appeal to all, including Russia, which occupied part of our territories, that they will come and remove the legally elected president," he said.

Saakashvili stressed that such statements only are to the benefit of the enemy. "I do not want to say that someone has been bought and played the game of our enemy, and although we have some data on it, it would be hastily for the president, but such statements are sounded in unison statements of Moscow and is unbiased appraisal," he said.

Saakashvili urged the opposition not to make such statements because they undermine his credibility, and the foundations of statehood.
