Georgia to send additional military contingent to Afghanistan in 2010

Georgia, Tbilisi, June 23 / Trend , N.Kirtskhalia / In 2010, Georgia will send additional military contingent to participate in the operations of coalition forces in Afghanistan.

Next year, the 31st battalion of the Third Infantry Brigade will be sent to Afghanistan, the head of analytical department of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia David Nardaya briefed the media.
 
The Georgian military will be presented to the international mission without national restrictions. The soldiers who have served in Iraq will be sent to Afghanistan. Before this, they will be trained.

Before this, by autumn of 2009, a military company of Armed Forces of Georgia will be sent to Afghanistan. One of the divisions of the Second Infantry Brigade will be part of the French contingent.
Up to now, nearly 10,000 Georgian military people participated in various international peacekeeping operations.
