Vice Premier Minister of Chinese state council Li Keqiang paid official visit to Ashgabat. On behalf of Chinese leadership, Keqiang delivered invitation for Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov to visit China any convenient time, national TV channel Altin Asir reported on June 25.
Term will be coordinated via diplomatic channels.
China is one of the biggest foreign trade partners of Turkmenistan, Turkmen media said. Turnover between two countries has increased almost 40 times since 2000. As a result of 2008, turnover exceeded $800 million.
Roughly 32 enterprises with participation of Chinese capital were registered in Turkmenistan. Roughly 49 investment projects in the amount of over $1 billion and over 1.4 billion yuan are being realized in Turkmenistan.
One of major directions of partnership is fuel-energy sector. Construction of gas pipeline will be completed by late 2009. Roughly 40 billion cubic meters of Turkmen gas will be supplied via this pipeline to China annually during 30 years.
