Roughly 164 employees were dismissed from Azerbaijani interior agencies in 2008, deputy interior minister Asker Alekperov said in Azerbaijan interview with official press.
Deputy interior minister regretted concerning violation of human rights, grave violations by individual employees while executing official duties in activity of interior agencies.
"Despite number of similar cases reduces every year, leadership of the ministry takes tough measures towards those who allow illegal actions and blacken police," Alekperov said.
Actions were taken towards 248 employees for violation of law in 2008, 154 employees were punished for violation of human rights and freedom, he said.
Roughly 1,520 employees distinguished in official activity were awarded in 2008. Roughly 123 employees got honorary diploma of the interior ministry, 129 employees - breastplate For service in interior agencies, 44 employees got special rank.
