Soldier Artemyev deserts because of dedovshchina (UPDATED)
Major reason for Russian soldier Dmitry Artemyev to desert to Georgia was dedovshchina made by soldiers, High-ranking source in North Caucasian military unit told RIA Novosti over phone on July 2.
"According to information, Artemyev left base because of dedovshchina made by soldiers, residents of North Caucasus," interlocutor of the agency said.
Soldier left Russian base in South Ossetia last night, he said.
Artemyev joined military forces in November 2008.
