Azerbaijan, Baku, July 2 / Trend , A.Huseynbala/

The summit of the Turkic-speaking countries Parliamentary Assembly (PA) to be held in Baku will discuss creation of the unified TV channel.

"It would efficient to broadcast the TV under the parliament. Because it is difficult to imagine another organization which could objectively provide linkages of Turkic States," Co-Chair of the Working Group on the Azerbaijani-Turkish inter-parliamentary relations Nizami Jafarov told Trend on July 2.

In February 2008, an agreement was signed to establish the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-speaking countries in Turkey. The protocol was signed by representatives of the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan refused to participate in the event.

Jafarov said TRT "Avaz" which has recently launched its activities does not meet necessary requirements to become to the unified television.

"This channel is working only with public television and radio broadcasting in Azerbaijan, they are preparing joint programs. The channel is under the subordination of TRT. Whatever the mutual respect, they undertake basic work," he said.
