Wednesday in Avalbar residence of the President of Georgia there was the reception in honor of U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden, with participation of all members of the government and parliament.
Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili welcomed high guest.
"It is an honor to receive you in this new and beautiful building", - he said in his welcoming remarks.
"At a time when we are building a democracy, at the hotel where you are staying, there are people who are dissatisfied with our policy. But this is democracy", - said Saakashvili.
The president also noted that 20 percent of the territories of Georgia occupied by Russian troops, and they are located just in 35 kilometers from Tbilisi. "We are confident that the occupier leave and the flag of Georgia will always fly", - said Saakashvili.
Mikhail Saakashvili personally thanked Joseph Biden, who last year gave him a specific recipe for ending the crisis and remembered with great pleasure the statement by President Obama in Moscow, where he personally reaffirmed its respect for the territorial integrity of Georgia.
President of Georgia awarded the Vice-President of United States Joseph Baydenu Order of Saint George and the book on Georgia as a token of appreciation.
