Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received Russian minister of defense Anatoly Serdukov in Baku on August 1, AzerTaj state information agency said.
"Military and military-technical cooperation expands between countries upon Azerbaijani and Russian Presidents' orders," Serdukov said.
He said that this visit is important for effective exchange of opinions on cooperation prospects in this sphere.
Azerbaijani President stressed successful development of bilateral relations in different spheres. Azerbaijani President expressed hope for expansion of military and military-technical cooperation between countries in future.
"Cooperation in this sphere, as well as in other spheres is always at the center of attention during the meetings with Russian President," Azerbaijani President said.
Azerbaijani President expressed confidence that visit of Russian minister of defense to Azerbaijan will promote strengthening of military and military-technical cooperation between countries.
Russian minister of defense Anatoly Serdukov paid working visit to Azerbaijan on August 1. Russian minister of defense together with Azerbaijani counterpart Safar Abiyev visited Gabala Radiolocation Station on August 1.
