Georgia, Tbilisi, Aug.3 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia /
The Tbilisi City Court did not satisfy the appeal of Georgian Parliament's ex-speaker, leader of the "Democratic Movement-United Georgia" party, Nino Burjanadze. Burjanadze appealed against the Georgian Finance Ministry's department of incomes.
The department demands the payment of income tax worth 1, 453, 200 lari, for the Tshnetsk (resort village near Tbilisi) dacha of Burdjanadze. According to experts, dacha sold to Burdjanadze for a symbolic price - 1 lari, under the order of Georgian President, is estimated at 12 million lari, but the lawyers of the ex-speaker argue that the tax should be calculated from the cost of 3 million.
Nino Burjanadze appealed against the report of the experts first in the Finance Ministry and later in court.
"We will wait for justification of the court's decision and then decide whether to protest against the decision of the Court of Appeal. We should find answers to our questions in the justification. However, I do not think that the justification would be unshakable. All comments after the formal conclusion of the court, which we will receive in the coming days," lawyer of Burjanadze, Gocha Svanidze, told journalists.
The time for protesting the decision of the court is 14 days.
