The Chairman of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan (CPA), Rauf Gurbanov, has been invited to Cuba.
The Cuban Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Marcelo Caballero Torres, has invited Rauf Gurbanov to officially visit Havana in 2010, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party.
The invitation states that this visit will allow both parties to share experiences of their political organizations and to exchange views on international developments and the level of cooperation between the two countries, the CPA reported on Sept. 7.
"We are renewing interest in development and strengthening relations between our parties and our nations," says the invitation from Jorge Marti Martinez, the Chief of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Republic of Cuba.
The CPA Chairman expressed his gratitude for the invitation and promised that he will make the visit in 2010.
At the meeting, the CPA Chairman and the Cuban Ambassador discussed the development of relations between the parties, as well as expanding Azerbaijani-Cuban intergovernmental economic and political relations.
