Chairman of Kazakh senate receives Korean ambassador

Chairman of the senate of the parliament Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Korean extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Kazakhstan Li Ben Hva on his request on September 11, press-service of the Kazakh senate.

"Further development of bilateral Kazakh-Korean relations, including inter-parliamentary ones was discussed during the meeting," press-release said.

"Kazakh and Korean positions coincide on many international and regional problems. Mutual interest in intensification of inter-state relations at all levels promote extension of inter-action and strengthening of mutual understanding," speaker said.

Ambassador stressed dynamics of development of Kazakh-Korean relations and expressed hope for further strengthening of political dialogue and economic cooperation. 

Diplomat highly appreciated Kazakh initiatives in nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, as well as stressed Kazakh balanced position on North-Korean nuclear program and problem with inter-Korean settlement.  

"Li Ben Hva thanked for invitation of Korean delegation to participate in the fifth General Assembly of the international conference of Asian political parties to be held in Astana on September 24-26, 209," the message said.

On behalf of Korean speaker, ambassador also invited Tokayev to pay official visit to the Korean Republic any time.
