USA is responsible for ending war in Iraq
America is responsible for ending the war in Iraq, said U.S. President Barack Obama, making a speech at the UN General Assembly in New York on Sept. 23, Vesti television channel reported.
"We withdraw the troops from major cities [Iraq] and expressed willingness to help them take responsibility for the security of the country, Obama said. - United States is responsible for ending the war in Iraq."
With regards to Pakistan and Afghanistan, Obama said the United States hopes that these countries can develop the potential for security.
According to the President, the United States will continue its policy combating Al Qaeda and extremist groups.
In June, the U.S. began withdrawing troops from major Iraqi cities, including Baghdad, and handed over control to Iraqi national forces. The final withdrawal of American troops which have been in Iraq since March 2003 must to be completed by 2011.
