The Baku branch of the International Institute of Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection for the Citizens of the Interparliamentary Assembly (IPA) CIS, will hold the training entitled "Training of local observers for municipal elections."
The branch conducts extensive research on the topic "Municipal elections in Azerbaijan", the International Institute told Trend on Oct. 13. The organization began monitoring in several directions, research and public opinion polls.
Seminars will be held in Baku and the country's regions in connection with the elections. Their goal is to train observers of the parties who intend to participate in municipal elections in 2009.
The listeners will familiarize with the rules of the organization and monitoring the elections, rights and responsibilities of observers and the principles of the monitoring process.
The seminars can be attended by a person representing the political parties, NGOs and youth organizations, associations and independent parties. Training will be conducted in Azerbaijani.
