Russia and Ossetian separatists will determine till 19:00 whether to release 16 Georgians detained by Russian border guards at the administrative border between Georgia and South Ossetia two days ago, head of the analysis department of the Georgian Interior Ministry, Shota Utiashvili, told media. He negotiated with the Russians near the village of Burguli today.
The meeting was organized by the EU monitoring mission.
The Georgian side delivered a map on which detained Georgians were at a kilometer from the so-called administrative boundary.
Russia has stated that it needed time to determine whether the Georgians are guilty. All 16 Georgians are in police of Akhalgori region and they feel fine.
