The process of nomination for municipal elections continues in Azerbaijan.
25,614 candidates have already been approved for 1,718 municipalities, the press service of the Central Election Commission (CEC) told Trend . Of this number, 4,907 are women. 12,723 approved candidates for municipal elections have higher education.
Of those whose candidatures were approved, 24,117 people received the signature lists in the constituencies. Of them, 8,773 candidates have collected the necessary signatures and submitted these lists and other necessary documents to the relevant constituencies. 2,224 candidates have already been registered in 398 municipalities.
Of the candidates, 6,504 people are independent, others represent 28 political parties.
Municipal elections in Azerbaijan will be held on December 23.
