28,826 candidates have already been approved for 1,718 municipalities, the press service of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan told Trend . Of this number, 5,534 are women. 14,298 approved candidates for municipal elections have higher education.
Municipal elections in Azerbaijan will be held on December 23. During these elections, 15 682 members will be elected for 1,718 municipalities.
Of those whose candidatures were approved, 27,728 people received the signature lists in the constituencies. Of them, 17,437 candidates have collected the necessary signatures and submitted these lists and other necessary documents to the relevant constituencies. 7,927 candidates have already been registered in 841 municipalities.
Of the candidates, 8,045 people are independent, others represent 30 political parties. 18 political parties officially joined the election
