29,758 candidates have already been approved for 1,718 municipalities, the press service of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan told Trend .
Municipal elections in Azerbaijan will be held on December 23. During these elections, 15 682 members will be elected for 1,718 municipalities.
Of those whose candidatures were approved, 28,805 people received the signature lists in the constituencies. Of them, 20,120 candidates have collected the necessary signatures and submitted these lists and other necessary documents to the relevant constituencies. 11,043 candidates have already been registered. Of this number, 2,484 are women. 6,196 approved candidates for municipal elections have higher education.
Of the candidates, 8,623 people are independent, others represent 31 political parties. 18 political parties officially joined the election
