Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has arrived in Goranboy region, the AzerTaj state news ageny.
Goranboy`s economy has seen a considerable grow in the last few years, with the Gross Domestic Product making 112 million manats in the first nine months of 2009, an increase of 5.7 million manats against the same period a year earlier.
An average monthly wage grew to 185 manats in the region, while per capita incomes rose to 1,164 manats.
The region has also seen significant development of its healthcare and educational system, which featured large-scaled construction of medical facilities and schools.
President Ilham Aliyev started his visit by laying flowers at a monument to the national leader in Heydar Aliyev park in the city center. The Head of State toured the park where he also chatted with local residents and posed for photographs with them.
