First Lady of Egypt Susan Mubarak was conferred the rank of an honorary doctor of Azerbaijan Economic University. The Diploma of Honorary Doctor was handed by rector Shamsaddin Hajiyev during his visit to Egypt, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Egypt Faig Bagirov told Trend .
The delegation, headed by Professor Hajiyev, met with the First Lady, as well as with the scientific community of Egypt, in particular with the staff of the University of Alexandria, the Ambassador said. The visit was implemented through cooperation of Azerbaijani universities and the Library of Alexandria under the inter-governmental agreement, Bagirov said.
"We actively cooperate with the second largest city of Egypt - Alexandria, and the familiarity with the culture and history of Azerbaijan, with its modern achievements is important," said the ambassador.
