Court prolongs imprisonment of military convicted of Azerbaijani general's assassination

The court prolonged imprisonment of a military convicted of Azerbaijani general's assassination.
The Nasimi District Court made a decision to prolong the imprisonment of commander-in-chief of the Air Forces and Air Defense Troops Rail Rzayev's Assistant Aydin Rafiyev's son Anar Rafiyev to three months, Spokesman for the Prosecutor's General Office, Eldar Sultanov told Trend .
Rail Rzayev was killed near secondary school No. 172 in Ismayil bey Gutgashinli Street, 300-400m of his house in Inshaatchilar Avenue in Yasamal district of Baku at 07.30 on February 11, 2009. The Republican Military Prosecutor's Office launched criminal case into the crime in accordance with Articles 120.2.5 (deliberate murder committed on mercenary prompting or by order, as well as with a view of use a body of a victim) and 228 (illegal purchase, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of fire-arms, accessories to it, supplies (except for the smooth-bore hunting weapon and ammunition to it), explosives) of the Criminal Code.
"Due to Rail Rzayev's murder, his Assistant Aydin Rafiyev, Adjutant Anar Hashimov and some officers of military units have been involved in the investigation," Prosecutor General, Zakir Garalov told journalists earlier.
Garalov said after the general's murder, his office was interfered and some things were stolen. "Some people, headed by Aydin Rafiyev, were involved in concealing this crime. They were arrested. We do not rule out his participation in this murder," the prosecutor general added.
International experts have been involved in the investigation into the Azerbaijani general's murder and complex expertise is being held, he added.
