An Uzbek delegation headed by Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov will hold bilateral consultations with the U.S. government in Washington Dec. 17-18, a source in state circles told Trend .
An agreement on annual bilateral consultations was reached after negotiations with U.S Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs George Krol during his visit to Tashkent in November.
During the visit, Krol reportedly met with Deputy Prime Minister Elyor Ganiev, Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov, Uzbek Ombudsman Sayer Rashidova and Uzbekneftegaz leadership.
The Uzbek side accepted a U.S. proposal to send a large delegation to Washington to launch annual bilateral consultations on a wide range of issues.
