In 2010, Azerbaijan will open about 10 diplomatic missions abroad, Deputy Foreign Minister Vagif Sadikhov told journalists today.

The diplomatic missions will be opened under the Azerbaijani Parliament's decision.

The country will open embassies in Serbia, Oman, Argentina, Thailand, Croatia, Libya, Lebanon and Estonia, as well as a Consulate General in Batumi.

Sadikhov said currently Azerbaijan has 65 diplomatic missions operating abroad.

"Azerbaijan's relations with the Arab countries are expanding," he said. "These countries are increasingly interested in Azerbaijan. Last year, the Palestinian Authority decided to open an embassy in Azerbaijan."
