There is no new information about the assassination of Azerbaijan's former deputy defense minister and air force commander Rail Rzayev, General Prosecutor Zakir Garalov told media today.
Rzaev's Assistant Aydin Rafiyev Anar and his son were arrested on April 16, 2009. The investigation team, formed in the Investigation Department for Heinous Crimes of the Republican Prosecution, found general Rzayev's jacket and state number of his official car in their apartment situated in the Yasamal district and their car "Mitsubishi-Pajero."
Rafiyev was charged and arrested according to Article 177 and 179 of the Criminal Code, for theft and embezzlement.
On Jan. 12, the term of Rafiyev's arrest was extended for another three months.
