Suspending powers of the Armenian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) is a clear example of the situation in the country, member of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, vice president of the organization Samad Seyidov said in an exclusive interview with Trend on Jan. 26. This is the result of processes occurring inside Armenia, he said.
"Suspending powers of Armenia is a reality. The processes occurring inside Armenia, fusses in the Armenian parliament led to the fact that the Armenian delegation was unable to form its composition," said Seyidov.
Yesterday PACE did not approve the Armenian delegation in the organization.
Seyidov believes that removing an opposition member of the delegation and bringing other one at the last moment resulted in the fact that the Armenian delegation was not able to confirm its authorities at the first session of PACE.
"In this regard, one of the substitute members of Armenia raised a question, and the question was sent to the Committee on Rules of Procedure of the organization. It is true, the committee considered the question this morning and expressed positive opinion on confirming the authorities of the Armenian delegation. This means that the Armenian delegation will be able proceed to activity," said Seyidov.
