On the occasion of spring holiday (Nowruz) the day-off is postponed in Turkmenistan from March 21 to March 23, 2010.
A decree was signed by Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov to create favorable conditions for good rest of the population.
All enterprises, institutions and organizations, regardless of ownership, are required to enforce this decree.
"Our ancestors took Nowruz as a symbol of renewal, new life, enhancement of happiness and prosperity", Berdimuhammedov said at a governmental meeting.
According to the press service of the Turkmen government, Berdimuhammedov instructed the heads of military and law enforcement agencies to ensure order during holidays for the upcoming celebrations to be held all over the country organized and at the proper level.
