Azerbaijan's national security minister meets Iranian interior minister

Eldar Mahmudov said that further strengthening friendship and good neighborly relations between the two countries, cooperation in all spheres will contribute to the overall security, including combating crime, its dangerous forms and manifestations, the public relations center of the Ministry of National Security told Trend on May 4.
The Minister spoke about the crime situation in the region, factors affecting it, the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and its consequences, terrorism, drug trafficking, illegal migration and other issues, as well as adequate measures taken in connection with this and noted the importance of expanding cooperation between the relevant institutions of both countries in these spheres.
Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said that such meetings assume particular importance in combating transnational crime, including international terrorism, and determining the prospects of cooperation between the relevant law-enforcement agencies of both countries.
Najjar expressed satisfaction with the current level of relations between Iran and Azerbaijan, and mentioned confidence in developing good-neighborly and friendly relations between the two countries in the future.
