Georgia, Tbilisi, May 6 / Trend, N.Kirtskhalia /

The Save a Life organization will not allow Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili to hold a parade today, its founders said at a press conference. The organization is run by fathers whose children were reportedly killed by the police.

According to the organization, Merabishvili's initiative to mark May 6, or Saint George's Day, as Police Day, will lay the basis for estranging the police and the people, and will provoke a confrontation. They added that the move insults the religious population.

Save a Life will prevent the parade from being held.

"We will not allow the murderes of our children to hold parade," one of the organization's founders Yuri Vazagashvili said.

Two protests are scheduled for today - one at 10:00 a.m. in front of the Varketili metro station and the second in Saakadze.
