Georgia, Tbilisi, May 6 / Trend N. Kirtskhalia /
Georgian police will hold a large-scale parade today at the new Interior Ministry building.
The parade will be attended by all units subordinate to the Interior Ministry, including the police patrol and special forces.
The parade was established this year by Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili.
The opposition spoke out against holding a parade May 6, an Orthodox holiday in Georgia. The opposition believes the parade is a show of force before the local elections May 30.
The opposition intends to prevent the parade and will arrange a march in the same location. The opposition believes the police is guilty of killing more than a dozen young people after the Rose Revolution.
