CE observer mission arrives in Georgia

In connection with local elections May 30, the CE observer mission will arrive in Georgia. The elections will be observed by a group of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe consisting 25 people who will observe the election process and the subsequent period, Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Nino Kalandadze said today at a traditional briefing.

In connection with local elections May 30, the CE observer mission will arrive in Georgia. The elections will be observed by a group of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe consisting 25 people who will observe the election process and the subsequent period, Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Nino Kalandadze said today at a traditional briefing.

"Members of the observer group will be distributed throughout Georgia. It is important the process to be transparent, and not only for the citizens of Georgia, but also international organizations to have full and complete information about the elections held in the country," Kalandadze said.

The observer group will arrive in Georgia May 26 and complete its work May 31.
