The first in a series of technical courses in legislative drafting skills for parliamentarian legal officers concluded in Ashgabat, OSCE Centre in Ashgabat reported.

The three-day course was organized by the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat in close co-operation with the Mejlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan.

During the course, participants discussed legislative techniques, classification of legislative acts and the rules for drafting legal texts.

"This series of courses supports continuing legal reforms and further advances the drafters' skills in turning policy and administrative requirements into practicable, effective and clear laws," OSCE Centre Head, Ambassador Arsim Zekolli said.

Daniil Chukhvichev, an expert from Russia who conducted the seminar, added: "The seminar demonstrated the importance of studying law drafting techniques and helped the participants get a better understanding of the fundamentals of the techniques and methods they apply in practice."
