The U.S. Congressman Bill Shuster and Vice-Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Giorgi Tsereteli discussed local elections in Georgia and the country's relations with Russia at the meeting held in Washington.
Tsereteli within the visit to the U.S. holds meetings with senators and U.S. Congressmen.
Shuster emphasized the need for the withdrawal of the Russian troops from Georgia, but also touched on local elections held in Georgia, stressing the democratic holding of voting process.
"Georgia was able to hold good elections. The election does not take place without problems, including in America," the congressman said.
