Unification of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (APFP) and the Classic Popular Front Party (CPFP) is not possible because of the policies pursued by Ali Kerimli, the chairman of Classic Popular Front Party Mirmahmud Miralioghlu said on June 18.

"Ali Kerimli's policy does not allow political parties to unite. Formerly we agreed to conduct mass rallies. After certain period, he appropriated these plans. Later he himself prevented their implementation. Attitude towards Elchibey, our way, our biography prevent us from unifying," said Miralioghlu.

APFP is a member and co-founder of the Azadlyg bloc. It was established in 1989. The founder of the party and its chairman until 2000 was former president of Azerbaijan, late Abulfaz Elchibey. Since August 2000 the party split into two - APFP headed by Ali Kerimli, and CPFP.
