The Government of Uzbekistan has expressed gratitude to all the Uzbeks for support and assistance for refugees affected by the tragic events in the south of Kyrgyzstan.

The Government of Uzbekistan has expressed gratitude to all the Uzbeks for support and assistance for refugees affected by the tragic events in the south of Kyrgyzstan.

"The Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan expresses its sincere gratitude to the companies and organizations, departments and agencies, public and non-state actors, farmers and entrepreneurs, cultural workers, to all the generous people of the country who have made a worthy contribution to this noble work", - said the statement of the Government, published on Tuesday evening by National Information Agency of Uzbekistan (UzA).

As previously reported, about 100,000 citizens who have temporarily moved by the tragic events that took place June 11-15 at the south of Kyrgyzstan, have been taken and posted in the Andijan, Namangan and Ferghana regions of Uzbekistan.

"Citizens and the public, all residents of Uzbekistan adopted this tragedy to heart and sharing grief of the victims and responding to their suffering, once again, in practice, have shown such qualities of our people as mercy and sympathy", said the statement.

The special bank account, opened in Hakimiyat of Andijan region, continues to receive funds from many businesses and individuals of the country.

To the date about 3,9 billion soums has been received for this account. In addition, from companies and institutions, farms and public organizations of Uzbekistan received food, medicines, clothing, bedding and other essentials worth over 7.8 billion soums, which are promptly delivered to the relevant addresses, said in statement.

"As stressed by the president of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov high humanism and compassion, shown by our people and country, clearly showed a better quality of national character - in grant aid to people stranded and need support. Especially active youth participation in this noble campaign shows that our younger generation is educated in the spirit of these national values", - the statement said.
