The monument to Stalin has nothing to do in Georgia in the 21st century, said Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili today, commenting on the dismantling of the monument "the leader of all peoples" in Gori.

"I join the opinion of those who believe that Georgia should not host a monument to those at whose initiative the occupation forces invaded into Georgia. It is impossible that there were monuments at the same time to initiators of the occupation and those who died in occupation," Saakashvili said.
However, he stressed that dismantling the monument to Stalin in the center of Gori does not mean revising history.
