The OSCE must establish the post of high commissioner for ethnic and religious tolerance, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said in Astana at an OSCE conference on tolerance and non-discrimination.
"I am convinced that this institution's activities will contribute to the dialogue between ethnic and religious communities in OSCE countries, conflict prevention, and the rapid resolution of tensions," Nazarbayev said.
According to the president, the commissioner will also improve the OSCE's credibility and effectiveness.
