Effective mechanisms to resolve the conflict must be established in Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Georgian State Reintegration Minister Temur Yakobashvili said the meeting with Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland and Cabinet of Ministers Chairman and Slovenian Foreign Minister Antonio Miloslovski.

Effective mechanisms to resolve the conflict must be established in Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Georgian State Reintegration Minister Temur Yakobashvili said the meeting with Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland and Cabinet of Ministers Chairman and Slovenian Foreign Minister Antonio Miloslovski.

The meeting discussed in detail the projects, in which the Council of Europe will take part, Yakobashvili told journalists.

"They have already made their offers and we consider them. The most important is that the meeting emphasized that the Council will actively participate in the plan of this strategy. One of the areas in which we work is protection of human rights. We must set up such mechanisms that will be effective. We do not need monitoring for monitoring, most importantly are results," Yakobashvili said.

Jagland said that the meeting discussed a plan for the reintegration of these territories.

"We introduced the Georgian side with our ideas aimed at enhancing the protection of human rights and the beginning of constructive dialogue," he said.
