Azerbaijani two prominent scholars elected foreign members of Georgian National Academy of Sciences

Two prominent scholars of Azerbaijan, who contributed to the development of scientific thought in the country, the world-renowned scientist, oncologist, academician at the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences and the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences Jamil Aliyev and Vice-President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic Khoshbakht Yusifzade were elected foreign members-academicians of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia said.
Academician Jamil Aliyev was awarded for special services in the field of oncology, deep and informative reports at the conferences held in Georgia. The reports were made on the basis of valuable and important research.
Academician of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences, member of the International Academy of Research of the Turkic world, SOCAR first vice-president, Professor Khoshbakht Yusifzade was elected foreign member of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, SOCAR said.
More than 20 oil fields in Azerbaijan (including fields "Azeri", "Chirag" and "Guneshli"), in Turkmen and Russian sectors of the Caspian Sea have been discovered and put into operation with the participation and under the guidance of Yusifzade.
From 1994-2004 Yusifzade worked as vice-president of SOCAR. Now he is the first vice-president of the company.
Yusifzade was awarded with "Istiqlal" medal in 2000, in 2004 - 'Shokhrat' order and in 2009 - 'Sharaf' order.
